TERMS & CONDITIONS

REGISTRATION ACCEPTANCE

☐ I agree to the CF Extra Lessons Terms & Conditions.

☐ I acknowledge the CF Extra Lessons Privacy Policy.

By completing registration, the student confirms that they have had an opportunity to read and understand these Terms & Conditions and the CF Extra Lessons Privacy Policy.

1. ABOUT CF EXTRA LESSONS

CF Extra Lessons is an educational support and tutoring platform designed to assist students from various institutions with their academic learning and development.

Services may include:

  • Physical classes
  • Live online classes
  • Learning resources
  • Lesson recordings
  • Notes
  • Worked examples
  • Practice questions
  • Student support
  • Module-specific resources
  • Digital Access Cards
  • Attendance management
  • Announcements
  • Other educational services made available through the platform

The availability of individual services may depend on the student's module registration, registration period and access status.

2. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS

By registering with CF Extra Lessons, creating an account, accessing the platform or participating in CF Extra Lessons activities, the student agrees to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

The student should not complete website registration if they do not agree with these Terms & Conditions.

Where applicable law gives a student rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, these Terms & Conditions do not remove those rights.

3. VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION

Participation in CF Extra Lessons is voluntary.

No student is forced or compelled by CF Extra Lessons to:

  • Register
  • Create a website account
  • Use the CF Extra Lessons website
  • Select a module
  • Attend a class
  • Participate in online classes
  • Renew registration
  • Continue using the platform
  • Make a payment

Creating an account on the CF Extra Lessons website is entirely optional.

A student may choose to receive educational assistance through physical CF Extra Lessons classes without creating or maintaining an account on the website, where that option is available.

The website is provided as an additional learning and access tool for students who choose to use services such as online resources, recordings, live classes, Digital Access Cards, announcements and other online features.

A student who does not wish to use the website may still choose to participate in available physical educational support services, subject to the applicable physical-class registration and access arrangements.

Each student is responsible for deciding:

  • Whether they wish to receive assistance from CF Extra Lessons
  • Whether they wish to create a website account
  • Whether they wish to use online services
  • Whether they prefer physical educational assistance
  • Whether they wish to register for particular modules
  • Whether they wish to make an applicable payment
  • Whether they wish to continue or renew their participation

By choosing to participate in CF Extra Lessons, the student confirms that the decision was made voluntarily after considering the educational support available.

A student's decision not to create an account, use the website, register online or renew with CF Extra Lessons does not create a future payment obligation unless there is a separate lawful agreement providing otherwise.

4. STUDENT REGISTRATION

Students who choose to register must provide accurate and truthful information.

A student must not:

  • Register using another person's identity
  • Deliberately provide false information
  • Impersonate another student
  • Create an account for fraudulent purposes
  • Allow another person to use their account to obtain unauthorised access

CF Extra Lessons may request reasonable verification where necessary to protect the platform, students or educational services.

5. STUDENT ACCOUNTS

Where a student chooses to create an account, that account is intended for the registered student.

Students are responsible for keeping their login details confidential.

Students must not knowingly share their:

  • Password
  • Login credentials
  • CF Digital Access Card
  • QR code
  • Restricted learning resources
  • Other personal access credentials

If a student suspects that their account has been accessed without permission, they should report the matter to CF Extra Lessons as soon as reasonably possible.

6. STUDENTS UNDER 18

Where a student is under the age at which independent consent is legally sufficient for a particular activity, CF Extra Lessons may require involvement, authorisation or consent from a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.

Additional safeguards may be applied when CF Extra Lessons processes children's personal information.

7. PAYMENT METHOD

CF Extra Lessons does not currently process student registration payments directly through the website.

Applicable payments are made physically through the approved CF Extra Lessons payment process.

Creating an account or completing an online registration form does not by itself constitute confirmation that payment has been received.

Where payment is required for access to a particular service, that service may only be activated after the relevant payment and registration have been confirmed.

8. VOLUNTARY DECISION TO PAY

A student freely decides whether to participate in CF Extra Lessons.

By making an applicable payment, the student confirms that:

1. They voluntarily decided to participate in CF Extra Lessons.

2. They were not improperly forced or pressured by CF Extra Lessons to make payment.

3. They understand the applicable amount before making payment.

4. They understand the services associated with the registration.

5. They voluntarily chose to proceed with the applicable service.

CF Extra Lessons is not responsible for making a student's personal decision for them regarding whether they wish to participate.

However, nothing in this section removes any legal rights that a student may have under applicable South African law.

9. PURPOSE OF REGISTRATION AND SUPPORT PAYMENTS

Amounts received through CF Extra Lessons contribute to the provision and continued operation of the educational programme.

These funds may contribute towards:

  • Website and platform maintenance
  • Hosting and technology services
  • Learning resources
  • Educational content preparation
  • Online class infrastructure
  • Physical-class activities
  • Administration
  • Communication services
  • Student support
  • Educational equipment and resources
  • General operation and sustainability of CF Extra Lessons

Where a payment is required in exchange for registration or access to services, it should be regarded as an applicable registration or support payment, rather than an unconditional donation.

Any separate donation described by CF Extra Lessons as a donation must be genuinely voluntary and must not be a condition for accessing services unless clearly and lawfully structured otherwise.

10. MONTHLY ACCESS AND RENEWAL

Where registration operates on a monthly basis, access is provided for the applicable registration period.

Registration for one month does not automatically guarantee access for the following month.

Students who wish to continue may be required to renew their registration.

If registration expires without renewal, CF Extra Lessons may deactivate or restrict applicable registration-dependent services, including:

  • Module resources
  • Recordings
  • Live classes
  • Student support services
  • Digital Access Card validity
  • Other registration-dependent services

Students are free to decide whether they wish to renew.

11. CF DIGITAL ACCESS CARD

Registered and approved students who use applicable platform services may receive a CF Digital Access Card.

The card may contain information such as:

  • Student name
  • CF identification number
  • Approved modules
  • Registration status
  • Validity period
  • QR code
  • Other necessary access information

The Digital Access Card remains personal to the registered student.

It must not be sold, transferred, duplicated for misuse or deliberately shared with another person to obtain unauthorised access.

12. QR CODE AND ACCESS VERIFICATION

Where applicable, the CF Digital Access Card or QR code may be used to verify a student's registration and access status.

Verification may be required when:

  • Entering certain physical classes
  • Attending an organised CF Extra Lessons activity
  • Confirming attendance
  • Accessing certain online services
  • Verifying registration status

Attempting to manipulate, duplicate or fraudulently use another student's QR code may result in suspension or cancellation of applicable access.

13. PHYSICAL CLASS ACCESS

Students may participate in available physical CF Extra Lessons educational support without necessarily creating a website account, subject to the applicable registration arrangements for that class.

CF Extra Lessons may use reasonable methods to verify eligibility or registration before entry into certain physical classes.

Students must comply with reasonable access, attendance, venue and safety procedures.

A student who is not appropriately registered for a restricted session may be refused access until their registration status is resolved.

14. ATTENDANCE

CF Extra Lessons may maintain attendance records for legitimate educational and administrative purposes.

Attendance may be recorded through:

  • QR verification
  • Digital systems
  • Class registers
  • Online attendance systems
  • Other reasonable attendance methods

Students who do not use the website may have their physical attendance recorded through an alternative appropriate method.

Attendance information will be handled according to applicable privacy requirements and the CF Extra Lessons Privacy Policy.

15. LEARNING MATERIALS

Learning materials provided through CF Extra Lessons are intended primarily for the educational use of authorised students.

Materials may include:

  • Notes
  • Worked examples
  • Exercises
  • Explanations
  • Videos
  • Recordings
  • Presentations
  • Worksheets
  • Diagrams
  • Teaching resources

Students must respect applicable intellectual-property and usage restrictions.

16. COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Original CF Extra Lessons content remains protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Unless permission has been given, a student may not commercially exploit, sell, publicly redistribute, reproduce in bulk or upload protected CF Extra Lessons material to another platform.

Students may use permitted material for their personal educational purposes according to the access provided to them.

Nothing in these Terms claims ownership over third-party materials that legally belong to their respective owners.

17. LESSON RECORDINGS

Some online or physical educational sessions may be recorded where appropriate.

Recordings may be used for legitimate educational purposes, including allowing authorised students to review lessons.

Where recordings may capture identifiable student information, voices, images or other personal information, CF Extra Lessons will handle those recordings in accordance with applicable privacy requirements and its Privacy Policy.

Where separate consent is legally required, CF Extra Lessons should obtain that consent.

18. UNAUTHORISED RECORDING AND DISTRIBUTION

Students may not, without appropriate permission:

  • Secretly livestream CF Extra Lessons sessions
  • Publicly upload class recordings
  • Sell recordings
  • Distribute restricted recordings
  • Publish another student's personal information
  • Misuse screenshots or recordings to harass or embarrass another participant

This rule is intended to protect students, tutors and educational content.

19. LIVE ONLINE CLASSES

Students who choose to participate in live online classes must behave respectfully.

Students must not deliberately:

  • Disrupt a class
  • Spam the chat
  • Interfere with the whiteboard
  • Prevent another student from participating
  • Use abusive or threatening language
  • Attempt to take control of systems without permission
  • Share inappropriate material
  • Impersonate another participant

CF Extra Lessons may mute, remove or restrict a participant when reasonably necessary to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.

20. NORMAL AND ENGINEERING DRAWING WHITEBOARDS

CF Extra Lessons may provide digital teaching tools including normal teaching whiteboards and Engineering Drawing whiteboards.

Students must not deliberately interfere with, damage, manipulate or misuse these systems.

Access to interactive controls may be limited according to the role of the participant during a class.

21. STUDENT CONDUCT

Students are expected to treat tutors, staff and other students respectfully.

CF Extra Lessons may take reasonable action where a student engages in serious misconduct, including:

  • Harassment
  • Bullying
  • Threats
  • Deliberate disruption
  • Fraud
  • Impersonation
  • Unauthorised account sharing
  • Deliberate platform abuse
  • Serious violations of another person's privacy
  • Repeated violations of these Terms

Actions taken should be proportionate to the seriousness of the conduct.

22. ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

CF Extra Lessons provides educational assistance.

Students remain responsible for complying with the academic-integrity rules of their university, college, school or other educational institution.

CF Extra Lessons resources must not be used to facilitate plagiarism, examination misconduct, impersonation or other prohibited academic practices.

23. EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT — NO GUARANTEED RESULT

CF Extra Lessons provides tutoring and educational support.

Registration or payment does not guarantee:

  • A particular mark
  • A pass
  • A distinction
  • Admission to a programme
  • Graduation
  • Successful completion of a module
  • Any particular academic outcome

Academic results depend on many factors outside the control of CF Extra Lessons, including the student's preparation, attendance, effort, assessment performance and compliance with their institution's requirements.

CF Extra Lessons commits to providing educational support but cannot promise a specific academic result.

24. STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY

Students remain responsible for their own academic responsibilities.

This includes:

  • Attending official institutional classes where required
  • Checking official university or school information
  • Completing assignments
  • Preparing for assessments
  • Meeting deadlines
  • Confirming official examination information
  • Following their institution's academic rules

CF Extra Lessons supplementary tutoring should not be treated as a replacement for official instructions issued by the student's educational institution.

25. EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS FROM VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS

CF Extra Lessons provides educational support designed to assist students from various universities, colleges, schools and other educational institutions.

References to institutions, modules, subjects, courses or qualifications are used to identify the academic areas in which students may receive educational support.

CF Extra Lessons does not issue official institutional results, qualifications or academic decisions on behalf of a student's institution unless specifically authorised to do so.

Students remain responsible for confirming official academic information, policies, assessment requirements and results directly with their respective institutions.

26. SCHEDULES AND CLASS CHANGES

CF Extra Lessons aims to provide classes according to communicated schedules.

However, circumstances may occasionally require:

  • Rescheduling
  • Venue changes
  • Tutor changes
  • Online-session changes
  • Cancellation
  • Combining sessions
  • Reasonable timetable adjustments

Where reasonably possible, students will be informed of material changes through the available communication channels.

27. PLATFORM AVAILABILITY AND TECHNICAL PROBLEMS

CF Extra Lessons aims to maintain a reliable and stable learning platform.

However, uninterrupted operation cannot be guaranteed at all times.

Temporary interruptions may occur because of matters such as:

  • Internet failures
  • Hosting problems
  • Maintenance
  • Software updates
  • Electricity interruptions
  • Third-party service interruptions
  • Security incidents
  • Unexpected technical failures
  • Circumstances outside reasonable control

CF Extra Lessons will make reasonable efforts to restore affected services where the problem is within its ability to address.

28. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The CF Extra Lessons platform may rely on third-party technology providers for functions such as:

  • Website hosting
  • Databases
  • Authentication
  • Email
  • Video conferencing
  • Live classes
  • File storage
  • Communication
  • Security

The availability of certain services may therefore partly depend on those providers.

CF Extra Lessons will take reasonable steps when selecting and managing services that process student information, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

29. WEBSITE SECURITY

Students who choose to use the website must not attempt to:

  • Hack the website
  • Bypass authentication
  • Gain unauthorised administrator access
  • Circumvent registration restrictions
  • Manipulate attendance records
  • Alter another student's information
  • Introduce malicious software
  • Attack or overload platform infrastructure
  • Exploit security vulnerabilities
  • Obtain information they are not authorised to access

Suspected serious security violations may result in immediate restriction of access and may be reported to appropriate authorities where required.

30. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION OF ACCESS

CF Extra Lessons may temporarily suspend or terminate applicable access where there are reasonable grounds, including:

  • Serious violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent registration
  • Account sharing intended to bypass access requirements
  • QR-code abuse
  • Serious misconduct
  • Security threats
  • Unauthorised redistribution of protected content
  • Failure to maintain required registration status
  • Other serious misuse of CF Extra Lessons services

Where appropriate and reasonably possible, the student may be informed of the reason.

Nothing in this clause allows CF Extra Lessons to unlawfully remove rights provided to consumers under applicable law.

31. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Cancellation and refund requests will be considered according to:

  • The circumstances of the request
  • The registration arrangement
  • Services already provided
  • Amounts already reasonably incurred
  • These Terms & Conditions
  • Applicable South African consumer law

CF Extra Lessons will not use these Terms to unlawfully remove rights that a consumer is entitled to exercise under applicable legislation.

32. PRIVACY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION

CF Extra Lessons may need to process personal information in order to provide educational services and, where chosen by the student, operate their platform account.

Depending on the service, this information may include:

  • Name
  • Contact information
  • Email address

  • Selected modules
  • Access status
  • Attendance information

  • Account information
  • Communications
  • Other information reasonably necessary for providing the service

Personal information must be processed lawfully and appropriately.

Further details should be provided in the separate CF Extra Lessons Privacy Policy.

33. STUDENT PRIVACY

Students must respect the privacy of other students.

Students must not use information obtained through CF Extra Lessons to:

  • Harass another student
  • Publicly expose private information
  • Impersonate another student
  • Share another person's contact information without authority
  • Misuse class recordings or screenshots

34. COMMUNICATIONS

CF Extra Lessons may communicate important information through approved channels such as:

  • The website
  • Student dashboards
  • Email
  • Approved messaging groups
  • Announcements
  • Direct communication relating to physical classes
  • Other official communication channels

Students who do not use the website remain responsible for checking the communication channels applicable to their chosen form of participation.

35. LIMITATION OF RESPONSIBILITY

CF Extra Lessons will take reasonable care in providing its services.

However, CF Extra Lessons cannot reasonably be held responsible for circumstances genuinely outside its reasonable control.

This may include certain failures involving external internet services, power interruptions, third-party infrastructure or other events that CF Extra Lessons could not reasonably prevent.

This clause does not exclude responsibility where doing so would be unlawful and does not remove any non-waivable rights granted to students under applicable South African law.

36. EVENTS OUTSIDE REASONABLE CONTROL

CF Extra Lessons may be unable to provide or may need to delay or modify a service because of circumstances outside its reasonable control.

These may include significant infrastructure failure, extreme weather, emergency conditions, venue closure, widespread communications failure or other events that could not reasonably have been avoided.

CF Extra Lessons will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant disruptions and, where practical, provide an appropriate alternative.

37. COMPLAINTS AND PROBLEM RESOLUTION

Students are encouraged to report genuine concerns or disputes to CF Extra Lessons through its official communication channels.

CF Extra Lessons should be given a reasonable opportunity to investigate and attempt to resolve the matter.

Nothing in this section prevents a student from exercising rights or remedies available under applicable South African law.

38. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

CF Extra Lessons may update these Terms & Conditions when reasonably necessary, including where:

  • Services change
  • New platform features are introduced
  • Security requirements change
  • Operational processes change
  • Applicable legal requirements change

Material changes should be communicated appropriately.

Where renewed consent is legally required, CF Extra Lessons should obtain it before relying on that consent.

39. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms & Conditions are governed by applicable laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to override legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded by agreement.

40. SEVERABILITY

If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining lawful provisions should continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

41. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms & Conditions, together with the applicable Privacy Policy and any clearly communicated registration conditions, form the principal rules governing use of the applicable CF Extra Lessons services.

42. REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION

For students who choose to create a website account, the registration page should require:

☐ I agree to the CF Extra Lessons Terms & Conditions.

☐ I acknowledge the CF Extra Lessons Privacy Policy.

By submitting the website registration, the student confirms that:

“I have read and understood the CF Extra Lessons Terms & Conditions. I understand that participation in CF Extra Lessons is voluntary and that creating a website account is also my choice. I understand that, where available, I may choose to receive physical educational assistance without using the CF Extra Lessons website. I am free to decide whether to register online, use online services, make an applicable payment or renew my participation. I understand that tutoring does not guarantee a particular academic result, and I agree to comply with the rules applicable to the CF Extra Lessons services that I choose to use.”
